The GLT's hands-on education and outreach programs promote the importance of protected land and the need to make conservation a priority for our community.  Our events, workshops and outings offer a variety of ways to connect with the breathtaking land we protect.

Lapham Wildlife Refuge.

During a field trip to a historic orchard, school children race about to harvest heirloom apples and help distribute the autumn bounty to local food pantries. Streamside explorations bring young and old members together to learn about salamanders and water striders.  Other members prefer to stretch their legs in a protected meadow as they marvel at the brilliant night sky during an astronomy event.

Greenwich Land Trust Can Come to You
Through unique displays and stunning presentations, we can bring the allure of our protected habitats to your neighborhood, school, or community group. The GLT's outreach efforts are as diverse as the landscapes we protect.  We have provided local realtor groups with a legal overview of land conservation benefits.  Outreach programs can educate you and your neighbors about the importance of establishing greenways in your neighborhood.  We have even offered science extension field trips to local school groups as a way to bring the science curriculum to life.
